About Lakewood Winter Club
Vision Statement:
To be Nationally recognized as a leader in skater development and achievement.
Mission Statement:
To provide opportunities for skaters to develop and achieve individual potential through a total quality competitive skating program.
The Lakewood Winter Club was formed in 1939 for the sole purpose of supporting the sport of Figure Skating. Its membership is generally made up of people from the Pierce County area but has members from all over the Northwest and even some from other parts of the United States.
The Lakewood Winter Club is an organization that is rich in tradition and is very well known all over the United States. Its proudest moment was sponsoring the 1987 National Figure Skating Championships held in the Tacoma Dome. Many fine skaters, skating on a National and International level, have trained and been members of the LWC.
