Skaters' Code of Conduct

Much effort has been invested in the Lakewood Winter Club skating program to design a successful, competitive ongoing experience for the skaters. Our desire is to develop a positive skating atmosphere.

Skaters' Oath: "During skating, I will be an example to others through my speech, conduct, and training. I will be responsible for my actions as I represent the Lakewood Winter Club (LWC) and Sprinker Recreation Center."

In addition, Lakewood Winter Club skaters will:

  1. Treat every other skater with respect.

  2. Treat all coaches with respect.

  3. Follow proper procedures regarding skating order and cd (tape) player use. Skaters will respect the skater doing their program.

  4. Adhere to all Sprinker Recreation Center policies and procedures.

  5. Skate assigned sessions and use sessions that reflect their own individual levels.

  6. Encourage one another.

  7. Be totally involved and have a positive attitude during practice and competitions.

  8. Have a high regard for one another and treat each other's equipment as their own. This also applies to LWC equipment such as the video, etc.
  9. Promote and participate in LWC activities.

  10. Not physically or verbally harm other skaters.

  11. Not leave the ice or area without informing an adult or individual coach.

  12. Make every effort to be on time to practice.
